Abstract
- In this paper, a superconducting W2−xRexB(x = 1) sample was synthesized, and its thermodynamic properties were systematically investigated. The sample displays a sharp superconducting transition at Tc ≈ 5.3 K on both the temperature-dependent resistivity and magnetization curves. The estimated zero-temperature upper critical field is found to locate below the Pauli limit, indicating possible conventional superconductivity. Moreover, the lower critical field can be nicely fitted by the Ginzburge–Landau (GL) formula for BCS superconductors. The low-temperature heat capacity data below Tc also displays a high coincidence with the conventional s-wave model. Collectively, these results suggest that W2−xRexB(x = 1) is a weak-coupling s-wave superconductor. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
