Abstract
- 4-Bis(dodecylbenzimidazolium) benzene (BBIC) was synthesized and its thin films have been fabricated using spin coating technique by varying spin speeds. The compound was investigated theoretically and experimentally. The HOMO and LUMO levels were determined theoretically. Thin films of BBIC compound were studied for their structural and photo-physical properties. UV-visible absorption studies showed that BBIC molecule exhibited absorption in UV region and emission at shorter wavelength in blue-violet region both in solution and solid-state form.
