Abstract

The article informs that electoral college and the system built around it have delivered a President and Vice President in 53 of 54 elections since the Twelfth Amendment was ratified in 1804. It mentions that only direct popular election of the President and Vice President is consistent with modern democratic values and practice; and also mentions the ticket of presidential and vice presidential candidates that wins the most popular votes wins all the electoral votes for that jurisdiction.
