This article focusses on research methodology of Allama Ghulam Rasool Saeedi in deriving religious commandments (Shar'i Ahkaam). His famous book Sharah Sahih Muslim is taken into consideration. His approach about four important issues (Rajm,'Azal,Eating of Ojhadhi and Test tube baby) is elaborated. Allama Saeedi got guidance from Holy Qur'an, Sunnah and approach of early jurists. Moreover, intellect of the present age was also not hidden from his eyes. He was fully aware of the medical and social issues of the public. There is dire need to give awareness to the intellectuals about his approach and research methodology. The main aim of this paper is to know how a theologian should behave about religious commandments(Shar'i Ahkaam).Should he be so rigid that the life becomes difficult or should he be so flexible that the injunctions of Islam are trampled. This article shows how Allama Saeedi became a bridge between two extremes. Hopefully this work will be proved beneficial for the researchers. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
