- B Author Information b An event is serious (based on the ICH definition) when the patient outcome is: * death * life-threatening * hospitalisation * disability * congenital anomaly * other medically important event An 80-year-old man developed I Saprochaete capitata i infection during immunosuppressive treatment with methylprednisolone and antibacterial therapy with cefuroxime, ciprofloxacin, doxycycline, and moxifloxacin. The man, who was diagnosed with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and gout 10 years previously, presented to hospital with productive cough, dyspnoea and chest pain on both the sides a week previously. It was considered that, he had developed I Saprochaete capitata i infection secondary to methylprednisolone, cefuroxime, ciprofloxacin, doxycycline and moxifloxacin. [Extracted from the article]
