Abstract
- The article discusses monetary policies in China amid the covid-19 pandemic and a proposal to monetise the deficitmeets widespread scor. Topics include announcement of the finance ministry to issue the central and provincial governments 8.5trn Yuan in new bonds in 2020; options to cut interest rates to reduce banks' required reserves to expand the money supply; and plans to save many state-owned companies from defaulting.
