O CUIDADO DE ENFERMAGEM EM ESTOMATERAPIA: DESENVOLVIMENTO DE UM PROGRAMA DE INTERVENÇÃO.

Aim: develop a nursing program in enterostomal therapy (NPET). Methodology: A mixed-method sequential design, supported by the guidelines of the Medical Research Council for development and evaluation of complex interventions. The study had two phases: construction of NPET'pilot version by theoretical nursing references, the International Classification for Nursing Practice (ICNP®) and the Nursing Interventions Classification (NIC®) with focus group of expert nurses; a pilot study on the implementation of the program. Results: six focuses of nursing practice and interventions for preoperative, postoperative and follow-up to patients with elimination ostomy (EO), constituted the NPET consensus version. Conclusions: the NPET'construction contributed to define nursing interventions in stoma care, constituting a systematized and individualized proposal of caring in human dimensions vulnerable to the presence of EO, making possible the evaluation of its effect in ostomy adaptation and quality of life.
