Abstract: The article offers information related to a dead adult female Drymarchon couperi snake found on the ground surface near a sandstone ledge, southern Georgia, following a prescribed fire. It mentions microscopic evidence of acute injury to the pulmonary epithelium which is consistent with acute thermal injury, supporting the assessment that the snake died as a result of fire.
