This article presents information on award-winning designer Richard Holbrook. Holbrook debuted a new collection of home/office furniture at the fair inspired by the look, lightweight design, and strength of classic Gibson guitars. The first item, Lucy, is a compact desk with an overhead shelf and coordinated work tools. The products are based on a new "hollowbody" tabtetop construction that creates a lightweight, rigid structure by fusing a thin, contoured, multiply top skin with a peripheral frame and bottom skin.
