The "war of memoirs" emerged in the 1990s in both France and Algeria (8).[1] In France new generations of former French settlers and Algerian Muslim immigrants sought recognition. Pervillé also fails in his copious bibliography to mention the work of one of Algeria's leading political sociologists (Djabi [2]) in his discussion of the Algerian Communist Party.
