Abstract

The article presents information about abstracts of various papers that will be discussed at the Discussion Group of the 6th European Congress on Epileptology that will be held on June 1, 2004. A paper that will be discussed is "Benign Myoclonic Epilepsy: What About Outcome?" by S. Zuberi. Benign myoclonic epilepsy in infancy is a rare syndrome with approximately one hundred cases reported since the first syndromic description in 1981. This figure includes 20 infants with reflex myoclonic epilepsy whose inclusion in the wider syndrome remains debatable. The two largest case series comprise 11 and 14 patients collected over many years. Other papers that will be discussed are "Benign Infantile Spasms: Nosography and Treatment," by G. Capovilla and F. Vigevano and "Focal Epilepsies in Infancy: One or More Phenotypes?" by B. Echenne, A. Roubertie, V. Humbertclaude and F. Rivier.
