The article presents information about abstracts of various papers that will be discussed at the Discussion Group of the 6th European Congress on Epileptology that will be held on June 3, 2004. One of the papers that will be discussed is "Neuronal Mechanisms of Action Resulting in CNS-Related Side-Effects of Antiepileptic Drug Treatment," by A. P. Aldenkamp. In this presentation firstly the effects of antiepileptic drugs (AEDs) on mood will be discussed. Other papers that will be discussed are "Brain Development and Focal Versus Generalised Cognitive Impairment in Children With Epilepsy," by U. Gleissner and "Patients Perceptions of Cognitive Impairment and Methods for Ameliorating Their Effects," by G.A. Baker.
