Abstract

ILC2s are a very important element of the innate immunity. Physiologically, the take part in the defense of the host against helmint infections. In pathological conditions, they become a link in the series of immune events of allergic inflammatory response. ILC2s activated by tissue-derived alarmins, such as IL-33, IL-25 and TSLP, release IL-4 and IL-5 affecting immune effectory cells, thus enhancing T2-dependent immune responses.
