Abstract
- The article reports on the negotiations made by software firm Microsoft president Brad Smith to pursue its deal to acquire the popular video application (app) TikTok, which was ordered banned by U.S. President Donald Trump due to national security reasons. Also cited are the approval received by Microsoft chief executive Satya Nadella from Trump to pursue the deal, and the strategy used by Microsoft to build good relationships to lawmakers and key government officials.
