Abstract

A simple and convenient silver-catalyzed multicomponent strategy for the construction of highly functionalized γ-carbonyl-α-amino acid derivatives has been developed under mild conditions. • Multicomponent tandem reactions for synthesis of γ-carbonyl-α-amino acid derivatives. • Atom and step-economy. • Mild condition. • High reaction efficiency. Silver-catalyzed multicomponent strategy for the construction of highly functionalized γ-carbonyl-α-amino acid derivatives has been developed under mild conditions, in which various γ-carbonyl-α-amino acid derivatives were obtained in moderate to excellent yields. Preliminary mechanistic studies suggested that silver-catalyzed A 3 -coupling reaction and alkyne hydration process were accomplished in a simple operation. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
