COVID‐19's impact on the mental health of older adults: Increase in isolation, depression, and suicide risk. An urgent call for action.

An editorial is presented on the COVID-19's impact on the mental health of older adults. Topics include the risk factors suggest that older adults being in uncharted territory as they experience new or exacerbated psychiatric symptoms, the older adults feel overwhelmed and hopeless in the best of times, and the pandemic has heightened preexisting physical and mental health issues that have increased depression and suicide risk.
