Abstract
- New fault kinematics data within the Archinsk field located in the Nurol depression (south part of the West Siberian Basin) are obtained by structural analysis of the 3D seismic reflection data. Two stages of fault formation in the Mesozoic–Cenozoic period are distinguished. The first stage is characterized by a normal stress regime with a NE-trending minimum principal stress and corresponds to Triassic rifting. The second stage is characterized by Cenozoic reactivation of the pre-existing faults and the formation of new, predominantly strike-slip faults, with submeridionally and sublatitudinally trending minimum and maximum principal stresses, respectively.
