Abstract

The article provides information on a study which reported ultrastrong low-carbon nanosteel produced by heterostructure and interstitial mediated warm rolling. Topics discussed include unreported mechanisms that enabled the nanosteel consists of thin lamellae, major issues for using severe plastic deformation techniques to produce ultrahigh strength materials, and analysis of microstructures of the steel samples to explore underlying physics of the higher strength obtained under warm rolling.
