Abstract

This study focuses on the biography of a right-wing militant of Argentine nationalism. Through the study of one case, this paper seeks to address the following question: How is a right-wing activist built?. Our interviewee was born and grew up in an Italian family which supported monarchy and fascism. He established connections with the Italian (neo)fascist world in Buenos Aires and he was part of the Movimiento Nacionalista Tacuara in his youth. In order to approach this life story with a micro perspective, we will use Oral History tools, as well as the concept of habitus and Alejandro Quiroga's theory of the three spheres. We will conclude that an early insertion in the world of fascism and Argentine nationalism through family and the school system were decisive for the construction of this activist's political identity. The sources used are two interviews, which we analyze by paying special attention to his memory of his political activism and the conformation of his identity as a right-wing activist.
