Abstract

The effect of fluorine introduction into the catalysts based on beta and mordenite-type zeolites on their textural, structural and acidic properties and catalytic performance in isomerization of n-hexane was studied. The introduction of fluorine was shown to decrease the amount of acid sites detected by ammonia TPD in the temperature range of 100-500 °C. It was found that fluorine-containing catalysts based on beta and mordenite zeolites are more selective toward the formation of mono- and dimethyl-substituted isomers of hexane and provide a higher yield of C5+ hydrocarbons as compared to undoped systems.
