The Basque Country has just released the revised version of its main territorial planning instrument, in order to adapt it to the current disciplinary challenges and approaches. The protection of the territory for its environmental value is a responsibility that the public authorities must urgently address due to the persistent worsening of the climate crisis, that leads the regional executive to design a flexible, strategic and integrated management, and bet on a systemic change of the territorial model that we outlined in this study.
