Abstract

This article presents information on the sling systems which shows similar outcomes in incontinence. According to researchers two sling systems for female stress urinary incontinence have similar rates of success and perioperative events. However, one was more prone to infection and erosion than the other, one study showed. A prospective randomized clinical trial from McGill University, Montreal, compared the suprapubic arc sling with the tension-free vaginal tape polypropylene mesh procedure for female incontinence. The researchers concluded that the two are evenly matched in terms of safety and efficacy.
