Abstract
- The article reports that the federal government of the U.S. is losing millions of dollars annually by using "outdated and ineffective" methods to assess skills and qualifications when hiring. If 10 per cent of the new professional and administrative hires annually leaves jobs prematurely, it costs the government an added $150 million per year, said a report from the non-profit New Partnership for Public Service. A numerical system using self-reported training and experience and the 155-part questionnaire methods used for assessing top candidates were criticized by the report.
