Abstract

The present study aimed at determining the foliar surface in three soybean genotypes (Glycine max (L.) Merr.) by non-destructive MLA method (measured leaf area). Were considered a relationship of type MLA = L×W×CF between leaf parameters, as length (L) and width (W), and a surface constant as correction factor (CF). The optimum CF value influences the accuracy of foliar surface determination. The CF values for the three genotypes were determined when the minimum error (ME) between scanned leaf area (SLA) and measured leaf area (MLA) was obtained. For Caro genotype, MLA = 25.357cm², under conditions of CF = 0.31, RMSE = 1.08798. For Felix genotype, MLA = 23.075 cm², in conditions of CF = 0.32, RMSE = 1.06757, and for Onix genotype, MLA = 20.751 cm², in conditions of CF = 0.31, RMSE = 1.21283. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
