Guest editorial.

There have been a plethora of articles written about foresight and foresight-related activity at a country level. This special issue of I Foresight i changes that by presenting a number of insightful articles and case studies on foresight and foresight-related research and practice in North America. Most of the qualitative articles were about the foresight field: Two articles proposed practical frameworks: Freyn and Farley for competitive intelligence in health care and Hines for scenario forecasting.
