Abstract

This paper presents the program Zenétudes: making a healthy transition to college (Marcotte, Viel, Paré et Lamarre, 2016), a depression and anxiety prevention program. The paper first presents the current state of mental health of post-secondary students and raises the relevance of implementing preventive interventions for this population. Next, the Zenétudes program, whose structure is multi-level, is described. The modules aim to meet the different needs of individuals related to anxiety and depressive symptoms and aim to facilitate their transition to post-secondary studies. The first part is a universal revention workshop which presents more general strategies which can benefit all individuals. This workshop also makes it possible to screen individuals at risk. The second part includes two workshops, one on anxiety and one on depression, which present more specific strategies on these two issues. Finally, the third module includes ten group meetings led by professionals and targets individuals with a sub-clinical level of symptoms. The article concludes by presenting the efficacy studies carried out on the implementation of the program to date. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
