EDITOR'S COMMENT.

The article presents the concern of the publishing team of the journal "American Sociological Review" regarding deterioration in the physical quality of submitted manuscripts. The editor states that since reviewers, editors, copyeditors, and printers have to spend long periods examining the manuscripts, authors should submit a legible copy of the manuscript. He requests the authors to follow the format recommended by the journal and to send the manuscripts on good quality paper.
