Abstract

S-BAC is a cross-shard consensus protocol, which deals with cross-shard transactions based on communications among shards, resulting in large communication overhead and high delay. To solve this problem, this paper proposed an improved S-BAC, denoted as S-BAC+, which introduced the role of shard manager and reputation mechanism accordingly. More specifically, the shard manager took in charge of deal with cross-shard transactions, which reduced the communization cost. Furthermore, it introduced a reputation mechanism based on voting to decide which node could be appointed as the shard manager. Experiments show that S-BAC+ is more effective than S-BAC, in terms of communication overhead and delay, and transaction throughput. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
