Abstract

What is the principal concern of religious education (and what explicitly isn't)? What are the individual teacher's responsibilities and which qualifications do teachers need to fulfil them? Finally, which methods adequately reflect questions like these scientifically? The reflection of these issues is a permanent challenge for religious education and continuously requires new ideas and perspectives. The following essay wants to point out how the debate on heterogeneity in general education provides some of these new ideas and perspectives for religious education.
