The opponents of the communist regime in Albania who moved to Turkey established the Turkish-Albanian Brotherhood Aid Association and started publishing the weekly Vardar newspaper in 1952. Although the newspaper followed a program that intended to keep together the opposition, in time, the association and the weekly lost the attention of its target audience and after 15 issues (most issues had two numbers so the number was 23-24 on the last issue) in 14 years, they were dissolved.
