Abstract

This text aims through ethnography, to qualify commonplace in studies of Amerindians dreams: that during the same the different souls abandon their physical container, the body. I argue that the dream experiences of the inhabitants of the community of Coipasi (Potosi, Bolivia) reflect rather than the body and, more specifically, physicality (Descola), plays a key role in it. Thus, dreams are presented as ontological states and many other similar experiences taken during wakefulness and characterized by the encounter between humans and spirits of different types.
