Abstract
- The article explores an attempt made by Midwesterners Edward F. Schlee and Bill Brock to fly around the world in a Stinson biplane three months after Charles Lindbergh's celebrated transatlantic flight in May 1927. It describes the SM-1 Detroiter chosen by Schlee and Brock for their journey. It discusses the challenges they faced during the flight and their reason for deciding not to complete their journey.
