The article examines the reasons why Florida's appellate courts have collectively issued few en banc opinions per year since 1982. Topics discussed include a brief history of the U.S. federal and Florida en banc history and several reasons why there are very few en banc opinions including each district court of appeal issuing a large number of per curium affirmed opinions.
