Abstract

We also reviewed the published literatures and summarized the clinical characteristics, diagnostic methods, treatment strategies and patient prognosis of multiple myeloma with involvement of the pancreas. A plain abdominal computed tomography (CT) scan showed dilatation of the upper segment of the common bile duct (CBD) and the intrahepatic bile duct. Surgical procedures other than distal pancreatectomy for isolated pancreatic tail involvement are not commonly performed due to the common systemic nature of the disease.5 ERCP can be used to treat obstructive jaundice via a biliary stent placement and has been increasingly used in patients with secondary pancreatic plasmacytoma in recent years.
