Abstract

In this article, a fast circuit-field coupling method is proposed for the analysis of the skewed induction motor. Based on the multislice model, the equivalent circuit of the skewed induction motor is established. The distributed magnetic field method is used to calculate air-gap flux density and deal with the core saturation at each axial slice. Based on the coupling analysis of the equivalent circuit and magnetic field, a two-layer iterative process is used to calculate the magnetic field distribution and performance indexes of the skewed induction motor. By comparing with finite element analysis and experiment results, the proposed method is proved to be correct and effective. The proposed method is characterized by fast computation speed and good accuracy, so it is an ideal approach to analyze the skewed induction motor. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
