Abstract
- In this paper a Non-central Pólya-Aeppli distribution is analyzed. It is a sum of two independent random variables, one that is a Poisson and another one, a Pólya-Aeppli distributed. Some basic properties of the distribution are given. A method of moments and a maximum likelihood estimation method for the Non-central Pólya-Aeppli distribution's parameters are derived.
