Abstract
- The authors discuss the issues over the use of Emblem subcutaneous implantable cardioverter defibrillators (S-ICD), particularly their short battery life, potential for electric overstress (EOS) and possible fracture of the subcutaneous lead-electrode (S-LE). Also cited are the study of the performance of the Emblem S-ICD models A209 and A219 from Boston Scientific Inc., and the issue of nontransparency in the cardiac rhythm management industry.
