Abstract

Botryomycosis is an uncommon chronic granulomatous infection caused by low-virulent bacteria that usually do not produce grains.1-3 It may affect skin or internal organs after traumatic or surgical inoculation.3-5 Cutaneous botryomycosis is characterized by tumors with fistulas that drain seropurulent secretion with grains, which are clustered bacteria.1 I Staphylococcus aureus i is the most common agent implicated in this disease. I Staphylococcus warneri i is a Gram-positive, catalase-positive, oxidase-negative, coagulase-negative bacteria from normal flora of human skin and oral and nasal cavities.
