Abstract
- The article discusses that physiological plant responses and nutrient loss were evaluated when utilizing vermicompost and biochar as partial substitutes for peat. Topic discussed include author conducted three different comparative greenhouse studies to assess the suitability of biochar (B) and vermicompost (V) as partial substitutes for peat-based growing media for ornamental plant production; and vermicompost was chosen because of its nutrient quality and lack of heavy metals.
