Osteoporosis (OP) is a common chronic orthopedic disease in modern clinic. It is believed in traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) that the disease is caused by deficiency of the kidney, the spleen, and the liver. At present, with the rapid development of molecular biology, the relationship between intestinal microecology and osteoporosis has become a hot clinical research. However, the treatment of OP from the visceral organs in TCM is only supported by its theory. In this paper, based on the research result of modern molecular biology, the authors explain the scientology of TCM in the treatment of OP from the spleen, in order to provide a strong scientific basis for TCM clinical treatment of OP from the spleen, and provide new ideas for TCM in the prevention and treatment of OP.
