Abstract

Tb3+/Yb3+ co-doped glass ceramics containing ZnWO 4 crystals were prepared by melting crystallization method. The effects of Tb3+ and Yb3+ doping on the crystal phase and luminescence properties of glass ceramics were studied. The XRD analysis confirmed the existence of ZnWO 4 crystals in glass ceramics, with the increase of Tb3+ doping concentration, the crystal phase changed to Na 0.5 Tb 0.5 WO 4. The effect of heat treatment time and doping concentration of Tb3+ on the luminescence performance of the glass ceramics were studied to determine the optimal doping concentration of Tb3+. When the concentration of Tb 2 O 3 is 0.1 mol%, with the increase of Yb 2 O 3 doping concentration, the crystal phase of glass ceramics changes from ZnWO 4 to Na 0.5 Yb 0.5 WO 4. The up-conversion luminescence performance of Tb3+/Yb3+ co-doped glass ceramics was studied, and the optimal doping concentration ratio between Tb 2 O 3 and Yb 2 O 3 is determined to be 1:7.
