- • DNA methyltransferase 1 (DNMT1) is implicated in epigenetic skin aging. • DVP modulated DNMT1 and extracellular matrix in vitro and in vivo. • Skin anti-aging epigenetic mechanism of DVP was revealed. • Potential of DNMT1 inhibitors as skin anti-aging agents was validated.
