- B Author Information b An event is serious (based on the ICH definition) when the patient outcome is: * death * life-threatening * hospitalisation * disability * congenital anomaly * other medically important event A 21-year-old woman developed cytokine release syndrome and macrophage activated syndrome during treatment with AUTO-3 for Philadelphia chromosome-like B-lymphoblastic leukaemia (Ph-like ALL). Additionally, she also developed macrophage-activated syndrome, which was characterised by high fever, an increase of ferritin, fibrinogen depletion and decreased natural killer (NK) cell activity.
