Abstract

Lignocellulose widely exists in nature. Due to its complex structure, the efficient degradation of lignocellulose requires the collaborative interaction of a variety of microorganisms. Due to the variety of microorganisms involved in the degradation of lignocellulose, its collaborative degradation mechanism is not completely clear. With the rapid development of microbial molecular biology and omics technology, it will provide new methods and ideas for the study of the mechanism of microbial synergistic degradation of lignocellulose. Our previous study found that the bacterial complex strain showed strong lignocellulose degradation ability at 50 °C. The strain was composed of separable and temporarily non separable bacteria, but the separable bacteria had no degradation ability. The results of metagenomics and metatranscriptome analysis showed that the expression of some genes related to lignocellulose degradation changed significantly. It is possible to further explain the microbial and enzymatic mechanisms of microbial co degradation of lignocellulose through omics. In this paper, the research progress of microbial degradation of lignocellulose was reviewed from three aspects of enzyme, pure culture strain and complex flora, and the current situation and application prospect of omics technology in the analysis of the mechanism of complex flora were emphatically introduced, so as to provide reference for exploring the mechanism of microbial community cooperative degradation of lignocellulose.
