Abstract

Pervious concrete is an innovative porous concrete that provides low self-weight. Most pervious concrete is used to decrease runoff and floods. In this research, silica fume was used as a cement substitution material of 10% with water/cement (w/c) ratio of 0.3. There were seven variations of aggregate/cement (a/c): 2.0, 2.5, 3.0, 3.5, 4.0, 4.5, and 5.0. The test methods for aggregate which were slump, porosity, and compressive strength tests had been conducted based on the ASTM C109/C109M (2016) and C127 (2015), while the permeability test was based on the falling head method. The research results showed that the increasing of a/c made the compressive strength and self-weight of pervious concrete decreased, while the permeability and porosity of pervious concrete increased. The maximum of permeability and porosity were 1.61 cm/s and 32.52%, respectively with a/c of 5.0, while the maximum of self-weight and compressive strength were 20.06 kN/m3 and 11.16 MPa, respectively with a/c of 2.0.
