Abstract
- The new social context leads to a new model for professional learning. In the curricular designs, that supposes the move from professional solving-problems, to a competenceslearning description. In fact, this movement has begun with the curricula D, due to the participation of some presidents of the national commissions of careers in the project Tuning-América Latina. These changes are tuned with the state of art of professional learning in the world. Also, attending a demand of the universities to accept more flexibility, according the development of each institution. In this paper, a definition of the concept of competence is showed, that may be applied to Higher Education Pedagogy in Cuba, the main changes that must be introduced in curricula, and the challenges the universities must face in order to a successful application. It is discussed the resistances to this approach and the need to move on comprehension and acceptance. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
