Abstract

A case study has been carried out from Swarnarekha River which is situated in the east Singhbhum of Jharkhand. The river water is contaminated with heavy metals due to the industrial and mining activities. This river is used as a source of drinking water by those inhabitants who lives near the river, due to heavy metal contamination the river water is polluted. The main purpose of this study is to investigate the concentration of heavy metal in river Swarnarekha and their impact on human health. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
