Abstract

This article analyzes the paper of Heitor de Paola, The Axis of Latin American Evil and the New International Order, a product of the Media Without Mask movement, led by Olavo de Carvalho. The paper claims that communism dominates the world and, based on the anti-communism and the apology of liberal capitalism, the author appropriates Marx and Gramsci, distorting the ideas of these authors, in order to disqualify the left and associate it with the creation of a privileged class and the defense of a doctrinal and authoritarian project. To this end, the author manipulates the concepts of communism, capitalism, metacapitalism and imperialism, to legitimize the conspiracyist thesis, inspired by the binary view of the world, in which capitalism would represent "good" and communism "evil", since it would claim world domination.
