Abstract

Giuffrè et al,4 found FC values above 50 mcg/g in 21 of 25 adult patients with COVID-19 pneumonia despite absence of gastrointestinal symptoms. In all MIS-C cases, FC was higher than 50 mcg/g. FC of patient without MIS-C who presented diarrhoea was 20 mcg/g. We do not find correlation between BMI and FC ( I r i = 0.257; I p i : 0.465). Data in adults suggested that mild/moderate COVID-19 patients without diarrhoea have normal FC values (<50 mcg/g). [Extracted from the article]
