Abstract

[ Objective] This paper aimed to further explore the mechanism of irrigation and nitrogen application on the accumulation dynamics and yield of winter wheat dry matter ( DMA) in southern Xinjiang. [ Method] The field experiments were conducted in the bottomless pit of Hongqipo farm in Abu area, setting three irrigation gradients (80 %ETc, 100 %ETc, 120 %ETc) and three nitrogen fertilizer gradients ( 0, 207,276 kg/hm² ), using the Richards mathematical model, the dynamic process of DMA under irrigation and nitrogen application levels and its impact on yield and its components were quantitatively analyzed. [Result] The maximum rate and average rate of DMA accumulation in the treatment of 100 % ETc and 207 kg/hm² were the largest, the time to reach the maximum rate was the earliest, the duration of the fast increase period was the longest, the yield reached 12.477 t/hm², and the local winter wheat water-nitrogen ratio model increased production by 35. 56 % . Excessive increase in irrigation and nitrogen application could inhibit it. Both yield and yield components were significantly positively correlated with the average rate and maximum rate of DMA accumulation and negatively correlated with the relative accumulated temperature (RGDD) of the fast-growing period. [Conclusion] Water and nitrogen fertilizers are the limits of winter wheat yield in tested area. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
